Adjusting the speed of a message
When listening to a message press 7 to slow it down or 9 to speed it up. Pressing 7 or 9 multiple times will decrease or increase the rate of playback. The playback speed is reset when you hang up.
Skip, delete or save a message without listening to the whole thing
You do not have to wait for the message to finish before taking action.
1. When listening to a message press * to stop the message.
2. Press 2 to skip to the next message or press 4 to save the message or press 6 to erase the message.
3. Pressing # will start the message up where you left off.
Speaking of not waiting - when navigating Phone Mail, don't wait for the instructions if you already know your next step.
Forwarding a voice mail message
Want to share that goofy message w/ your co-workers w/o having them touch your phone w/ their grubby hands? Siemens Voice Mail to the rescue.
1. While listening to the message (you can wait for the message to finish or press * to stop the message at any time) press 6 to delete or 4 to save it. You do not have to save the message to forward it.
2. Press 9 to forward the message. You can record a comment that the recipient will hear before the message i.e. “Tell your mom to stop calling me” · Press * to stop recording your comment. Press # to let the system know you are finished with your comment
3. Enter a destination extension and press #. You can enter additional destinations pressing # after each.
4. Press # to finish the process.
If you don’t like the comment you have recorded, re-record it or just add to it. If you put in the wrong extension, no worries, you can always erase it. After you have finished addressing the message to multiple extensions, you can request a return receipt or mark the message as urgent. The prompter walk you through all the nifty tricks.
Changing your prompt level
If you switch to abbreviated prompts, the prompter will no longer tell you what she is about to tell you. Don't follow? - check out this real-life example:
Standard Prompts- "You may listen to your messages, record a message, change your mailbox options... To listen to your messages push listen or 3, to record a message press record or 1, ..."
Abbreviated prompts- "To listen push 3, record push 1, change answering options press 8..." Still don't understand - um, you are better off listening to the regular prompts, disregard this message. For those that are ready:
Switching over to abbreviated prompts
1. Get to the main menu of your mail box ("To listen push 3...")
2. Go to "Mail Box Options" (push 9)
3. Go to "Prompt Level" (push 2)
4. Choose "Abbreviated Prompts" (push 2)
5. Pat yourself on the back, you did it and now have more time to code.
